St Louis Audubon Education Committee
Needs New Recruits!!
If you enjoy working with children and adults and talking about nature, why not join the Education Committee. We are looking for new people to work with us and give presentations on all kinds of subjects. We talk with school children, civic groups, scouts, libraries, churches garden clubs and anyone else interested in nature. We just completed a full day of activities for some Junior Girl Scouts to allow them to earn their Wildlife Badge. We do not require you to have any special knowledge--we will train you and give you outlines for our programs. Our new people do not give programs until they are comfortable with a topic.
We have no special days or hours--we usually do weekdays, but occasionally we work on a weekend and sometimes in the evening. A lot of our programs are presented by two of our committee and, on occasion, the entire committee attends if there are a large number of people in attendance. Just call Sharon Nickl, VP/Director of Education at 636.391.8751. |
The St. Louis Audubon Society announces a training class that is starting up for their speaker's bureau in their elementary education program. The speakers will be available free to schools and will cover topics ranging from birds to bats to plants.
Applications are now being accepted for the January, 2008 class. Training will be a total of 10 hours. Call Vicki Flier for applications or more information at 314.968.9166. |
