News: St. Louis Audubon Opposes "Riverview Casino" Project

We need your help!

As described in the September issue of TaleFeathers, developers have proposed a “Riverview Casino” project for 377 acres of largely farmland just south of the Columbia Bottom Conservation Area in Spanish Lake, Missouri. The project includes a golf course, parking for 8,000 vehicles and a small wind farm.

In addition to St. Louis Audubon, there is a broad coalition of groups opposed to this project and the rezoning. Called the Common Sense Coalition (CSC), just some of the diverse membership includes the Spanish Lake Community Association, Riverview Drive Improvement Association, Mississippi Valley Duck Hunters Association, St. Louis Metro Baptist Association, as well as the Confluence Partnership, the Eastern Missouri Group of the Sierra Club, Audubon Missouri and the Missouri Coalition for the Environment.

For additional information about Audubon and the CSC’s opposition to this proposal, please see the documents listed below.
